After initially testing 75 circuits layouts and 36 different variants in downtown Miami iin August 2917, the organizers - Liberty Media and Apex Circuit Design - shifted their focus to the area surrounding the Hard Rock Stadium. The original goal was to host the first Grand Prix as early as 2019, but complications related to permits and urban development plands delayed the debut.
